History
Founded in 1982 as a small family business, Hai Nam has constantly strived to achieve international recognition as a reputable supplier of premium seafood products. Over the past 40 years, our founders have developed Hai Nam into one of Vietnam’s leading seafood exporters with 7 factories and 2 member companies. Today, our organization has achieved a standard of quality and professionalism capable of penetrating the most demanding markets such as Asia (Japan, South of Korea, Taiwan…), Europe, USA, and Middle East.
 
Remarkable milestones: 
• 1982: Our founders began processing seafood
• 1992: Hai Nam Co., Ltd. was established in Ho Chi Minh City 
• 1993: The first frozen seafood processing plant was built in Phan Thiet 
• 1994: Hai Nam Co., Ltd. was established in Phan Thiet; and the second processing plant is built, intended for dried seafood products
• 1995: Hai Nam achieved its first EU export approval with code: DL125, for frozen seafood from the first processing plant
• 2001: Hai Nam opened a facility in Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City for processing dried agricultural products
• 2003: The third seafood processing plant was built in Phan Thiet Fishing Port to process frozen seafood
• 2004: Established a joint-venture with a Japanese partner to cultivate Umibudo (grape seaweed) in Phan Thiet 
• 2005: Acquired a stake in Vilfood, a value-added foods processor; the third seafood processing plant was approved for exporting frozen seafood into the EU with code: DL 356
• 2006: The second plant was approved for exporting dried seafood into the EU with code: HK 238 
• 2008: The first seafood processing plant achieved BRC accreditation
• 2010: The company’s first cold storage facility was built and began operations.
• 2015: Hai Nam’s head office in Ho Chi Minh City was completely rebuilt
• 2017: Hai Nam’s implementation of SAP’s ERP system went live
• 2021: The company’s sixth seafood processing plant was operated in Phan Thiet
• 2023: Started Q-Sea factory and will operate in 2025
